Student Union of the University of Oulu

student union of the university of oulu (shortened and commonly known as oyy) supervises the interests of all undergraduate degree students in the university of oulu, finland. we also provide students with services, such as free specialist consultation in case of academic or social problems, and publish the oulun ylioppilaslehti student magazine. as of 2017, oyy has over 11 000 members (all the undergraduate degree students at the university of oulu). all our actions are based on the premise of a good life for students. the highest authority in the student union is held by the student union council of representatives. it consists of 37 students representing all the members of oyy and elected by them every other year. the executive power in is held by the board, which consists of 6 to 9 students, and changes every year. as of 2017, we have 9 employees. our employees are mostly specialists and secretaries who work in different sectors, such as academic, international, and social affairs.
