Student Union of the University of Vaasa (Vyy)

vyy is the student union of the university of vaasa. in accordance with finnish law, all students of the university of vaasa are members of the student union. the universities act states that all undergraduate students are members and that the student union acts on their behalf. vyy’s highest authority is held by the student union council of representatives which consists of 30 students representing all the members of vyy and elected by them every other year. each and every member can stand as a candidate to the council. executive power is held by the student union board of 6-10 people. vyy has also employers in different sectors of its action. secretary general is the superior of the staff and is chosen by the council of represetantives. vyy has other secretaries who the specialists in their sectors and who support the board on its tasks. vyy also has other staff managing different kind of projects during the financial year.
