Students 4 Syria
our mission: to support syrian refugees by offering tutoring in english, math, and financial literacy in order to improve their ability both in and outside of the classroom, along with field trips to help educate them on canadian culture. our story: based in toronto, canada, students for syria started as a modest project meant to provide elementary tutoring services for syrian refugees by arabic speakers. we hosted our first session in december 2016, with around 12 people in attendance. 9 months later, we are tutoring nearly 25 kids per week in english and math, and have hosted a fundraiser that attracted a crowd of over 120 people.
