since 2004 studio cardenas conscious design operates in milan, a creative architecture workshop leader in innovation, design and construction with sustainable materials in special with bamboo. in 2006 was built the first bamboo dry-mounted structure in italy, the microclimatic pavilion. following was built in 2009 bootech ecodome a geodetic pavilion. in 2011 bootech dry-mounted bamboo construction system was awarded with the prize "italia degli innovatori" italian of innovators by the agency for the diffusion of the technologies for innovation of the presidency of the italian council of ministers. for expo milan 2015 sccd was involved in the design of 3 projects: colombia pavilion, cocoa cluster and vanke shitang exhibition the only bamboo bearing structure approved in expo milan. recently built projects are the internationally awarded energy efficient bamboo house in zhenjiang china a 3 storey high dry-mounted bamboo structure, dehon housing complex in rome, inbar garden pavilion in b
