studio eidola is a zürich based interdisciplinary studio founded by denizay apusoglu and jonas kissling in 2020. they work at the crossroads between design, architecture and research. their hands-on approach aims to rediscover the qualities of materials, traditional building techniques and cultural narratives.‍ in their practice there is a strong emphasis on learning and experimenting with the craft of manufacturing, this entails defining a relationship with the material and its transformation through human interaction. ‍ their work starts with investigations into cycles and properties of raw materials, geomorphic processes that shape the landscape and longstanding making cultures; and from there it transfers into objects, spaces and installations.
