studio mmd is an architectural practice founded with the belief that architecture has the ability to transform our daily experience, and is most successful when that experience is fun, engaging, and sustainable. we’re not afraid to bend the rules, to challenge, and to make the most out of what might seem a meager budget or a limited space. we know that innovation and inspiration need not be mutually exclusive of an efficient approach. and we also know that getting the most bang-for-the-buck means taking a nuanced approach to the existing condition of a site: to make strategic moves to provide a memorable experience. founded in 2007 by los angeles-based architect, michael macdonald, studio mmd has a depth of experience in design and implementation of commercial workplace, residential development, retail, restaurant, single-family house, and institutional projects.
