Studio Tuin en Wereld

‘between yard and world’ is a novel by paul de wispelaere (1928-2016). throughout the novel, the world is pondered and considered from a yard (a garden). at the same time, that yard is a part of the world. something emerges between yard and world. this ‘something’, this ‘between’ is equally a moment, a place and a relation. studio tuin en wereld approaches spatial ‘themes’ from this particular multiplicity: space as moment, as place and as relationships. studio tuin and wereld combines this with a pragmatic attitude. studio tuin en wereld is a design practice that thrives in and looks for complex and preferably paradoxical spatial themes that are found on the interface of society, client and the design practice itself. studio tuin en wereld is under the artistic direction of architect tomas ooms (cfd). besides this, he is lector and researcher at the faculty of architecture at the ku leuven.
