today the internet accelerates cultural diffusion as the world becomes more connected. while balancing realism against abstract forms studiozepa explore this theme of globality. the street artist duo are inspired by fauvism and stained glass, symbolizing aspects of modern life and parts of our personalities. combining vivid colour application with detailed, illustrative line work allows the artists to create powerful portraits and landscapes. by celebrating different cultures through the stained glass lens the consistent theme of equality emerges. studiozepa is a collaboration between zestaonline and page33. before meeting they produced commissioned work since 2003. they began working together in 2013 in south africa, and are now based in the netherlands.
