my childhood was spent woven into the woods, as well as the street. hence, it was natural to allow my relationship with the world to evolve through my work. while studying cultural geography at the university of wisconsin, madison, found objects & minerals worked their way into my path. often times, i work with the local geography leading the process. most recently, it’s been 'the driftless region' of southwestern wisconsin & the shores of lake superior. i find strong inspiration in scandinavian design, geology & surf/skate culture. in the present, my design continues to develop along these inspiring lines.as i accumulate experiences in rural & urban environments, i reflect upon the collection of physical memories in the form of found raw curiosities and harvested geologic time; beach glass, bone, shell, metal, stone, & driftwood. when they come together, i find them telling stories, from the 'eureka!' moment i find them through completion.the result exists as a symbol of our connectio
