subhiksha ventures seeks to strategically invest in agricultural operations in ethiopia. subhiksha is in the process of leasing 50,000 acres of fertile land in the gambella region of ethiopia. subhiksha ventures llc was co-founded by a diverse, well-rounded team of university of chicago mba's that collectively has decades of experience with investments in and hands-on operations of farmland in emerging markets. subhiksha plans to grow cotton, corn, wheat, soy beans, red chili, rice, and other crops critical to the ever-growing world population on a large commercial scale. currently, subhiksha is in the process of raising additional outside capital and securing land contracts to ensure that farming operations will begin mid-2012. subhiksha's five year plan includes expansion into other agriculture related areas, such as poultry and dairy. subhiksha plans to vertically integrate across the farming and commodity trading value chain. this strategy will place subhiksha ventures in a formida
