the sublette county libraries serve a population of 10,000 spread out over 5,000 square miles of untouched wilderness of unparalleled beauty. sublette county is cradled by three major mountain ranges, the wind river mountains, the wyoming range and the gros ventre range. pinedale, the county seat of sublette county, sits at an altitude of 7,200 feet and is 80 miles southeast of jackson hole. there are two libraries in our system: the pinedale library and the big piney library. both libraries serve as the heart and vital community centers of their respective communities and are beautiful public spaces. the pinedale library is an architectural award winning structure: the main library is constructed of logs and the addition is built from environmentally conscious rammed earth — the first public building in the u.s. built from insulated rammed earth. its spacious meeting rooms are used by everyone from local businesses to state agencies and hosts everything from baby showers to communi
