the sudden cardiac arrest foundation is a national nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to raise awareness about sudden cardiac arrest and help save lives. sudden cardiac arrest (sca) is a leading cause of death in the u.s., affecting about 1,000 people every day. on average, only one in 10 victims survives. we are working to improve survival rates by serving as an information clearinghouse that fosters attitudinal and behavioral changes designed to save more lives. in addition to maintaining a robust website with news and information, one of our key initiatives is an online community of sca survivors and others affected by sca, which provides peer support and opportunities for collaboration. we also conduct research on such topics as public awareness about sca and post-resuscitation quality of life. in addition, we have educational campaigns for schools and colleges. for more information, please visit http://www.sca-aware.org and join our you can save a life group on link
