i set up sue lane jewellery in hereford in 2000 after graduating from middlesex university. my aim was to make a living from designing and making contemporary jewellery that was clearly recognisable as my work. 18 years later i am living the dream, working from a studio in rural herefordshire and doing something i love. i have exhibited widely across the uk, and have enjoyed showing at goldsmiths’ fair for many years, as well as origin at somerset house in london, and previous to that chelsea craft fair. the hereford contemporary craft fair is always one to look forward to as it is a perfect chance to meet up with customers and friends on my doorstep. my collections are always evolving, though my trademark shapes and style are always evident. this is a natural progression, as a maker you constantly strive to improve and push the boundaries of your work and style. i often work to commission, a lovely aspect of what i do; as it is immensely personal. in 2004 i was asked to teach jew
