the suffolk deaf association (sda) serves the deaf people of suffolk. they may be profoundly deaf, hard of hearing, deafened, deafblind or suffering from tinnitus. sda works to spread knowledge and awareness of deaf issues to society as a whole and encourages the inclusion of deaf people in social, education and training activities including: bsl classes bsl classes are held on a regular basis at ipswich and bury st edmunds branches. all levels of skills are taught by skilled and qualified bsl tutors for beginners or skilled students. deaf awareness training can be provided for individuals or corporate. suffolk hearing support services fully trained staff and volunteers providing advice and support to hard of hearing people. countywide clinics for cleaning, re-tubing of nhs hearing aids as well as issue of batteries. home visits can be arranged. demonstration, loan where appropriate and sale of assertive equipments is also available. lip-reading classes weekly lip-reading cl
