Suffolk Rape Crisis

we are a committed group of feminists working to support survivors and to raise awareness of rape and sexual violence. a small group of women started suffolk rape crisis in 2010 following the realisation that there was no rape crisis provision for the women and girls of suffolk: previous service in suffolk had closed in 2006. how we work: we use the word survivor to describe women and girls who have experienced rape or sexual abuse. the term 'victim' makes invisible the other side of our response to rape and sexual violence - the active and positive ways in which we resist, cope and survive. we collect anonymous information for statistical purposes: this helps us to provide evidence of the need for our service to potential funders. however, no information is ever disclosed that would enable individual clients to be identified. what we offer: our volunteers operate a free, confidential helpline which is open twice a week on tuesday and thursday evenings between 7-9pm. we will always be
