according to the world health organisation, about 800,000 people die by suicide each year across the globe ,that is 1 suicide incident every 40 seconds. suicide is now a leading cause of death in young people. nigeria is not spared in this tragic development as nigeria ranks 15th in the world and n0 1 in africa in terms of number of deaths by suicide each year. every suicide is a tragedy that could be avoided and suicide is no solution (sins) has a mandate to prevent as much suicide incidents as we can. what we do: 1. we monitor media coverage of suicide all over the country to make sure that both the mainstream and new media adheres to the international guidelines for suicide reporting as outlined by the world health organisation. 2. we provide help to suicide contemplators by quickly connecting them mental health specialists . one of the major causes of suicide is depression , a mental health issue that can be managed with counselling and medication. 3. we push against legislat
