for stuart sullivan, owner/operator of sullivan auto group, being in the automotive industry was always a given. a third generation car dealer, stu’s grandfather began the art of trading long before wholesaling really took shape. from the days of trading a cow for a plow (on horseback!) the first sullivan dealership was established in 1965. along with a 20 car lot, the kentucky compound would expand to include: a gas station, hotel, restaurant, and even a place to buy farm equipment! naturally, he would go on to teach his son the ins and outs of buying and selling. at the ripe ole age of 14 stuart’s father, jd, would begin buying cars; helping to take a small car lot to 3 large operating locations. in 1984, when he was only 18 years old, mr. sullivan built a 2 lane auto auction that he would sell in just 3 years, thus giving way to the birth of jd sullivan motor sales (stuart would become a partner at just 19). like his father, jd's vision grew bigger, and he would soon become one of t
