sum advisory, llc is a consulting services firm that offers advice to start-ups, large companies and investors, primarily in the medical industry. we advise on all aspects of business, including finance, operations, fundraising, strategy, technology/clinical program evaluation and business development. we were founded in 2006 and incorporated in 2017. the greek symbol ∑ is used to denote a sum in mathematics. for us, it is emblematic of our approach to giving what we believe is wise advice by “summing up” a variety of wide-ranging and often confounding inputs and factors to reach a conclusion. we use a combination of highly analytical thinking, combined with significant experience and strong intuition to find the non-obvious answers. we pride ourselves on our ability to “see around corners”. today, our advisory services are provided primarily by barry cheskin. barry has over 25 years of general management experience in the medical device business and many years of board experi
