sum studio is a research and design collective that is working toward a world where materials have a pulse, where waste is a vestige, and where equity is a cultivated reiterative practice. our projects investigate what our buildings, materials, and systems will look like in this new era. rooted in partnerships, sum studio is growing alongside a community of experts in science, humanities, and design as well as practices outside of convention. every project is a practice in fluidity between disciplines that cultivates a deeper understanding of the world. research and open ideation results in grounded speculation on how we can achieve a better future, now.
