Summer on the Hill at Horace Mann School

soh’s mission is to enrich the education of promising, low-income public school students in the bronx, washington heights, and harlem, prepare them for selective schools and programs, and offer guidance to their parents. soh is a year-round, supplemental enrichment program that has served 1300 promising students since 1994. soh: • is certified by the irs as a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization. • is housed on the campus of the horace mann school in riverdale and receives a gift-in-kind of the school’s facilities, but must raise funds to support its own expenses. • works with the same students and families from 3rd through 12th grade -- for ten years • helps promising students who are not being challenged in their schools and are at risk of losing their motivation to learn. • hires experienced teachers from independent, parochial, and public schools to teach small classes using a stimulating curriculum, • partners with 100 bronx and upper manhattan public schools to identify and recr
