summit engineering and design, llc offers multi-discipline engineering and design services to the refining, marine, power, and process industries as well as software development under the kohera3d brand to enhance the use of 3d laser scanning in the cad environment. our staff consists of several highly experienced and skilled engineers and designers including 7 licensed professional engineers. we have been actively involved in the use of 3d laser scanning since 2001. 3d laser scanning provides a method of gathering very accurate field data and greatly improves the accuracy of our mechanical and piping design. summit has been using faro scanners since 2006 and we received the u.s.a's first faro focus3d in 2010 and have a focus3d x330, faro's latest model scanner.. summit uses advanced design tools such as plant3d for 3d piping design and intools for instrumentation design.
