confronting challenges, engineering solutions our mining, civil, and environmental engineering teams are highly qualified professionals. we provide a top to bottom integrated discipline approach for the entire project cycle that ultimately saves you time and money. founded in 1977, summit engineering, inc. has rapidly expanded to meet the growing civil, architectural, mining engineering and environmental engineering needs of kentucky, western virginia and west virginia. summit’s first office, located in pikeville, kentucky, now serves as its corporate headquarters. in 1981, summit’s civil engineering design headquarters opened in lexington, ky. a fourth branch opened in 1985 in chapmanville, west virginia, which was consolidated with the charleston office in september 2011. summit architectural services was created in april 1995 and operates out of the pikeville and lexington offices. tri-state laboratory services, a subsidiary of summit engineering, inc., is also located in pikeville,
