Sumport

port cities in the mediterranean sea face common challenges due to their social, economic and geographic characteristics. mobility in this area is also affected if not aggravated by the seasonal increase of tourists, as the mediterranean coasts are the most popular tourist destinations in europe. sumport (sustainable urban mobility in med port cities) was created to help cities face such problems. the project brought together together six port cities: valencia (spain), koper (slovenia), regional unit of thesprotia (greece), limassol (cyprus), kotor (montenegro) and durres (albania). these were supported by a few research and public organisations: central european initiative, institute for transport and logistics, aristotle university of thessaloniki, and las naves.
