sun d'or was incorporated on october 1, 1977 as an el al subsidiary, called “el al charter services ltd.” four years later we changed our name to "sun d'or, international airlines ltd.". the name combines the english word “sun” with the french “d’or” of gold – thus, golden sun. we are a company that markets charter, scheduled, seasonal and ad hoc flights. we based at ben-gurion airport and are wholly owned subsidiary of el al. the connection to el al is reflected among others in our aircraft maintenance and in-service on the ground and in the air, which are provided by el al staff. el al's matmid frequent flyer club is another area that links us to el al. we have grown and grown and made the company a significant player in israel‘s charter flight market. we are proud that, among our other achievements, we operate flights for incoming tourism to israel. the company today today sun d'or operates flights to about 40 destinations in europe, africa and the mediterranean basin. branding
