founded in 2014 by telecommunications industry veteran edward sun, sun global broadband (sgb) uses a proven long-range outdoor wireless system that provides affordable, reliable 5g-type connectivity for mobile devices with automatic authentication, and ensures they remain connected throughout the entire coverage area. using exclusive technology, sgb’s strategically placed wi-fi antenna sites provide seamless mobile data coverage on oahu. this includes indoor and outdoor locations everywhere from diamond head to waikiki to ala moana and ward village – even while users travel up to 35 mph. sgb also offers a unique gateway system for visitors from asia to access their primary cellular carrier when visiting hawaii. when a user turns on their phone, they connect with the sgb wi-fi network. sgb then forwards the call to their home carrier in a system designed to “bridge” calls and allow visitors to quickly, easily and securely connect their home cdma and gsm mobile network providers.
