produce solar energy somewhere. use it anywhere. as the prices of photovoltaic appliances are plummeting, the difference between the cost of pv modules and basic building materials is decreasing. self-consumption solar plants will drastically grow and become more and more common. concurrently, current change in energy production and consumption is stimulated by digital technologies. in this context, sunchain was created in 2016, as a spin-off company from tecsol, a main european solar engineering firm. sunchain combines tecsol’s 35 years of experience with the startup flexibility using the most recent blockchain technologies. sunchain’s purpose is the off-site self-consumption of solar energy, using the blockchain. our solution offers the opportunity to use solar energy away from the production point. in the context of self-consumption, the excess power generated by the solar plant is oriented to another consumption point through the distribution network.
