Suncoast Housing Collaborative

the suncoast housing collaborative (shc) was formed in 2022 as an intentional partnership between service providers, community members, and property owners focused on identifying solutions to the housing shortage in manatee and sarasota counties. objective shc believes in a housing first model which aims to connect people experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity to permanent housing as the first step in gaining self-sufficiency. we believe that success goes beyond obtaining physical shelter. wraparound services are provided by local nonprofits to help each unique person or family receive the resources they need to establish long-term housing stability. how it works we offer financial incentives and other benefits to landlords, property owners, and building managers in sarasota and manatee counties who lower rental barriers for applicants coming from the shc. these barriers include prior eviction history, requirements that a tenant must earn at least 2x monthly rent, not allo
