Sunderland Branch Liaison Fans Supporting Fans

we run a match day mental health hub which was inspired by the increasing numbers of fellow fans and friends taking their own lives. the branch liaison council represents thousands of fans and across our branches transport them all around the country. we wanted to be able to offer support and guidance to our fans when they need it and to change the stigma around mental health through the common love of our club. we started with joining forces with other elements of our matchday community such as local police and fans liaison officers and attended suicide prevention training. after this we wanted to go a step further in providing practical face to face support. we fundraise to be able to bring in councillors each home match, alongside our volunteers we offer a friendly and confidential space for fans to receive support.
