i am a toronto based artist, born and raised in dubai and have been calling canada my home for the past 20 years. from living in two very different countries, to growing up in a very diverse downtown toronto, it has allowed me to appreciate the beauty of various art forms and artistic perspectives. art and music have been passions of mine since childhood and i continue to incorporate them into my art aesthetic. my paintings are heavily influenced and inspired by various forms of creativity. i am also a huge mental health advocate because of my personal and pivotal experiences and utilize my art platform to build a forum for mental health awareness and to encourage open supportive dialog. my work in formal terms is modern contemporary abstract. however, i describe my work as art that focuses on empowerment and positivity. i utilize acrylic and mixed media to integrate two main elements into my pieces, vibrancy and texture. the texture for me is my way of showcasing that life is neve
