Sunjammer Mission

sunjammer is nasa's first solar sail mission to deep space and the largest sail ever flown. as a nasa technology demonstration mission, sunjammer is the final step before solar sails are integrated into future space missions. onboard sunjammer, advanced technologies will provide earth with its earliest warning to date of potentially hazardous solar activity. additionally, the cosmic archive will carry a message of hope for future generations expressed through the letters, music, and photos of people from around the world. l'garde, the mission's primary contractor, is an industry leader in solar sail technology and is responsible for mission design, development, and operations. mission partner space services manages the cosmic archive and provides additional opportunities for public engagement, including sponsorships, outreach, and space education.
