mission statement sunmool is building a web platform to allow people to exchange or give away their unused outfits with the goal of using technology to enable the kind of gift economy that preceded society's use of money. earth is currently at a tipping point in its history as human activity has increasingly brought the planet out of balance. key to this problem is our current economic system which encourages material consumption and compels consumers to continually buy new products. clothes are an example where this takes place. as clothes are a durable good, such items are often discarded before they are fully used and many people have a closet filled with outfits that are collecting dust instead of being used. while such outfits can be donated to charity, only an estimated 20% of donated items end up being resold for further use and much of the rest ends up in a landfill. our mission is to give old outfits another chance and, along the way, re-introduce people to the power of giving
