sunsat aims to understand the rate of deforestation by observing the earth from low earth orbit at 400km. using a high resolution camera to image the ground cover, data is compressed before being transmitted back to the ground station at regular intervals. using artificial intelligence, deforestation and its cause in desertification (one of the major environmental hazards) will be studied.
