sunset auto parts has been a presence in columbia county since 1935 - first in st. helens, oregon under the name cooper auto parts. later in 1959, the cooper family opened a store in scappoose. the napa stores are presently owned by barry hess, who was born and raised here in scappoose. in 1970, while still in high school, barry went to work for the scappoose store's owner clarence o'brien. barry would eventually go on to work for corporate napa; returning to purchase the scappoose store, and eventually adding 14 additional stores serving the northwest oregon, southwest washington and the willamette valley. although sunset auto parts, inc. is now one of the largest napa owner groups in the nation, we are proud to call columbia county our home. sunset auto parts is made up of a group of enthusiastic, hard-working individuals. honesty, integrity and fairness are the cornerstones to our success. employees show up to work each day with a solid focus on serving our treasured customers and g
