Sunset Empire Transportation District

the sunset empire transportation district ("the district") was formed by the clatsop county, oregon board of commissioners on march 24, 1993. the district has been providing transportation in clatsop county ever since and is located in the northwestern corner of oregon state along the coast. the district encompasses the entire county of clatsop county covering approximately 840 square miles and serving over 36,000 citizens. it is governed by a seven member board of directors. from its small beginnings of a budget of $350,000, 3 buses and 4 employees, originally operating as a dial-a-ride service, setd has grown and changed over the years to a full-fledged transit provider with a budget of $3 million, 37 buses and over 55 employees to incorporate all public transit services throughout the county.
