Sunshine Coast Clean Air Society

mission: "to educate our community on the importance and benefit's of clean air and thus to enhance the quality of life for future generations." the sunshine coast clean air society was formed in march of 2002 and received a pyr/cap (federal) grant of cad $10,000 to inform and educate the citizens on the sunshine coast about the health hazards of air pollution in general, but of smoke inhalation in particular. in order to fulfill the education mission, we have attended public fairs and civic meetings and handed out brochures and other information. we have made presentations to the three "councils" on the coast - the scrd, the gibsons town council and that of the district of sechelt - asking that they do whatever is necessary to reduce air pollution. we have invited significant speakers to address our members and the public. we have produced a short informational video and we have placed advertisements in the local press. information is available for all concerned citizens. we care! we
