supportworks is an organization that provides free and open peer support programs to people living with mental illness and mental health challenges. as part of our commitment to accessibility, our programs are open to anyone, without need for a specific diagnosis or referral. we provide: - facilitated peer support - an open, inclusive, safe, and confidential environment - opportunities to connect with people going through similar experiences - a community support network - access to self-help resources supportworks began in 2009 with one weekly peer support group for people living with mood and anxiety disorders. with a passion for helping each other and ourselves we have become a fully registered not-for-profit organization offering five support groups a week and we have managed to help over 1,000 adults living with mental illnesses and mental health challenges in calgary. supportworks is and always has been 100% operated by dedicated volunteers, many of whom have personal experience
