south west mull and iona development (swmid) is a community company limited by guarantee with an operating area comprising the south west of the isle of mull and iona. embedded in the local area that we serve, our vision is to deliver community-led regeneration through projects that benefit the area economically, socially and environmentally. swmid’s activities are led by our communities’ needs and aspirations. we consult frequently and are ambitious and innovative in the ways we take forward the ideas generated. our projects include community land ownership and management of both 789-hectare tiroran community forest and a shoreside site at bendoran that we are developing for watersports, boat moorings and processing facilities for our community-owned seaweed farm. other projects include a hub for local businesses, a community garden, a tourism project and affordable housing. swmid is not for profit and any profits made are re-invested into the business or used to support local pro
