our story begins at the turn of the century when the long-serving chairman of warner music uk and the bpi and former chairman of warner chappell music publishing created a joint-venture record company with sony music uk named instant karma. this formidable team went on to make some wonderful records of extraordinary quality over the next three or four years, building a strong and eclectic catalogue. in 2004 the company returned to full independence and was reborn as dharma records. dharma has continued to sign and develop talent and in recent years has enjoyed a successful relationship with the film, tv and advertising communities around the world. to take that relationship further and in recognizing the need for speed and efficiency in music clearance, in 2013 we set up a publishing arm and began to create a one-stop clearance service for as many of our artists’ copyrights as possible: knoxsongs ltd. this “one-stop” approach is an area of particular focus for us and we are now also wo
