ipse, the association of independent professionals and the self employed, is the largest association of independent professionals in the eu, representing freelancers, contractors, consultants and self-employed people from every sector of the uk economy. not only is ipse an acronym, pronounced 'ipp-say'​ it is the latin word for ‘self’ or ‘by oneself’ – a reference to our chosen way of working. we believe that flexibility in the labour force is crucial to britain’s economic success. our role is to promote independent working by supporting and empowering our members individually, and collectively providing them with an influential voice in government and industry.
