Big Fix Uganda

a non-profit based in northern uganda, our mission is to alleviate the suffering of animals, to improve the health and welfare of people and animals, and to promote good human-animal bonds whilst helping victims of trauma. we are the only organization offering free veterinary services in northern uganda. at our animal hospital, we vaccinate animals against rabies, we spay and neuter dogs, treat cats and have also treated other animals including monkeys! the hospital also provides free care to animals in need whose guardians cannot afford to pay. we never turn away an animal who needs our care. the people of northern uganda have experienced significant war trauma. through the comfort dog project, we use the healing power of dog companionship to help war trauma survivors (men, women and even children) as part of a program of psycho-social rehabilitation. we run education outreach programs which are aimed at educating and empowering young people to advocate for animals and animal rig
