Student Safety Advocacy Society

ssas is a new uniclubs society that was created to be an advocacy for student safety. we were established in july 2021 after recognising a growing community concern surrounding sexual assault and harassment on campus and in the wollongong area. our mission is to make students feel safer by acknowledging their experiences and working with the university to enhance the resources and support services available. we aim to mediate between students and the university to give the student body a voice and allow people to feel confident and comfortable on campus again. we want to make the most of our time on campus, so we're expanding our outreach and planning some great initiatives and events for the upcoming year. - improving consent education and enhancing resources for students in accommodation and on campus - events that create an environment where students can be social while feeling safe and comfortable - workshops and seminars to address concerns around sexual assault, harassment and
