blendin is a foundation that connects newcomers (refugees) with dutch locals. by connecting people based on shared interest we have seen that sustainable friendships get generated that keep newcomers out of a negative mental situation. recent numbers have shown that one of the mayor reasons of the mental unhealthy situation of newcomers is due to a lack of a social network. this not only leads to a difficult fit in society, it also keeps newcomers far from finding a job with positive prospects. that is why blendin connects newcomers to dutch, we want to create this social network for our new neighbors. this way newcomers can find their spot in society and dutch people can come to an understanding of the new cultures that the newcomers bring. we have developed an online platform where both newcomers as dutch can make a profile. after filling in their availability the platform connects people on based similar interests and availability. we also offer information and meet ups through face
