Yale College Black Men's Student Union

founded in 2007, the yale black men’s union (bmu) is a student-run organization focused on uplifting black men on and off yale’s campus. the bmu is centered around three main pillars: unity, support, and service. these three ideals shape our actions and goals and how we go about completing them. with weekly meetings, we aim to foster conversation on a range of issues that are relevant to our experiences at yale and in the world. outside of our weekly meetings we aim to support the local community through our edward bouchet mentoring program with seventh and eighth graders at conte west middle school, our charity challenge each winter, and our open invitation to all members to volunteer with hunger heroes, a soup kitchen operating out of the united church on the green. we also hold events for our members that are hosted by our sponsors who include goldman sachs and bain capital. all of this is in pursuit of promoting empowerment of black men at yale and across the world and we will alwa
