yasyr was founded in 2013 by a group of syrian americans in response to the crisis in syria and in preparation for its aftermath. while based in washington, dc, the foundation is currently run by a number of dedicated volunteers around the united states and syria. each is united by a genuine passion for syria and its peoples. although there are other organizations in the united states committed to charitable giving in syria, most have political and/or religious affiliations. yasyr seeks to unite syrians and americans of all denominations and political beliefs in an effort to improve the lives of syrian civilians. our programs and support are nondiscriminatory and hope to empower and improve the lives of syrians of all backgrounds and perspectives.
