ytü korfball is a university and club team of yıldız technical university. in 2009, it was founded as a school team by the department of physical education and sport in yıldız technical university and it attended the first turkish korfball championship in 2011 representing şişli municipality sport club. with the foundation of yıldız technical university sport club, the team started representing it in the national korfball championships and tournaments and went a long way. in 2015, a youth korfball team was formed within dolunay sport club by gülsüm sonal, the coach of ytü korfball team in the aim of introducing korfball to young players and helping them gain experience in national korfball tournaments. in 2019, yıldız teknik üniversiteliler spor kulübü (yıldız technical university students sport club) was founded by çetin erdem sonal, the club chairman, and the team has represented it in the national korfball championships and tournaments since then. the achievements got by the team
