the ywca is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all. the topeka ywca was founded november 19, 1887 by a group of women seeking to enhance and elevate women’s lives “physically, mentally, morally and spiritually.” the ywca center for safety and empowerment, provides free and confidential services to victims of domestic and sexual violence, stalking, and human trafficking in shawnee, jackson, and wabaunsee counties in kansas. services include but are not limited to court advocacy, emergency shelter, support groups and 24 hour crisis support. ywca leadership momentum is a 6 month program designed to accelerate professional growth, enhance self-awareness, improve personal and team performance. highlights of the course include: learning & leveraging political savvy, negotiation styles and tactics, developing and demonstrating strategic leadership skills, building resilience and managing components of change process. ywca ki
