zimihc (zat ik maar in hoog catharijne) is ontstaan uit de behoefte van amateurkunstenaars aan plekken om te kunnen repeteren en op te treden. met drie eigen theaters (overvecht, wittevrouwen en zuilen) geeft zimihc gehoor aan die behoefte door een professioneel podium te bieden aan amateurkunstenaars. daarnaast organiseert zimihc met zimihc maatwerk evenementen en festivals op (inter-)nationaal niveau, zonder daarbij oog voor de amateurkunst te verliezen. ook bedient zimihc met de verhuur van haar theaterzalen de zakelijke markt. zimihc is vernoemd naar de band zimihc, waar directeur appie alferink lid van is. de band zimihc speelde 29 jaar geleden in hoog catharijne en had toen nog geen naam. tijdens dat optreden in het befaamde winkelhart werd om een naam gevraagd en zo werd zimihc geboren. zimihc: voor kunst in je leven kunst maken is van alle dag en wordt door verschillende mensen op verschillende manieren gemaakt. de behoefte om kunst te maken is de mens eigen. de vorm waarin
