Bitsy's Baubles

the goal of bitsy's baubles is to provide beautifully cut gemstones while keeping the environmental impact to a minimum. many of the gems i cut come from north carolina. most other gems out there come from such far off places as africa, asia and south america. my faceting machine, the facetron, is made in america. this cuts down on shipping travel and greenhouse gasses, as well as stimulates our own economy. as of august 2010 i have learned to solder silver and i have been hand making silver jewelery as a result. i have been using reclaimed silver as much as possible to keep things green. i am excited to add this skill as it keeps the number of things i need shipped to a minimum and it keeps things in house, so to speak.
