b.a.b.e.s., inc. respite & counseling services is a 501 c(3), (fully tax-deductable) non-profit organization incorporated march 12, 1997. the first program site was in appleton and located in a local flower shop. today, these innovative services are provided as a stress alleviation tool for young parents, and child abuse prevention services, in a facility with over 12,000 sq. ft. in appleton, wisconsin. our youngest parent to receive support was 15. the youngest child to receive care was 2 weeks old. the agency is the only no-cost, 7-hour respite care provider in northeast wisconsin. in 2003, a second site was established in new london, b.a.b.e.s. really helps! the existence of b.a.b.e.s., reduces situations that can sometimes result in child abuse and provide a positive impact on the “quality of life” for children and parents.
