situated in the east of south africa in the province mpumalanga (which in zulu means where the sun comes up) lie the farms of delmas. this area is well known for its very high quality and unique deposits of silica (si02). b & e silica is a well established opencast mine outside delmas producing graded silica media with an annual production exceeding 75000 tonnes. due to the natural granular shape of our products, they are very much sought after in the water purification industry, with b & e silica supplying presently two of the biggest water purification projects in southern africa namely the von bach water scheme in namibia and closer to home the rand water zuikerbosch scheme outside vereeniging. with the contract commitments on these exceeding three million rand. the von bach water scheme in namibia exemplified our ability and commitment to our export markets. b & e silica's graded filter media has been exported as far as egypt, mauritius and madagascar. packaging is in the form of p
